A sculpture based on a Gazelle helicopter fuselage, created by Charlotte Moreton and apprentices at Boscombe Down. It is sited at the Solstice Park site at Amesbury.
6th Feb 2007Royal visit to Boscombe Down 1971 (26 images)
The Queen was expected to visit Boscombe Down for the event to celebrate 50 years of aircraft test flying on 19th March 1971. In the event she had a bad cold and Pincess Anne visited instead. Most of the photos here were taken on the 18th March as all the exhibits were set up. It was the first occasion as far as I'm aware that private cameras were allowed into the establishment.
